We will not share your information with any third party. If you require special accommodation, please contact Lauren Wisniewski at (202) 564-2918 or at wisniewski.lauren@epa.gov by August 30, 2017. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA), and the Water Information Sharing and Analysis Center (WaterISAC) are hosting a free one-day workshop on the nexus between water and energy during emergencies. The goal of this event is to help water and wastewater service providers and their counterparts in the power sector improve their resiliency during power outages. Topics include:

  • How renewables are changing the way the electric grid is operated

  • Regulations impacting back-up generators, micro-grids, and co-generation facilities

  • How water service providers and electric utilities can work together to manage peak demand and electric service outages.

  • Weighing the benefits of electric resiliency versus cost

  • How water service providers, electric utilities and government agencies can work together to achieve resiliency goals
