Hike – Fire in the Desert

See how fire impacts the desert landscape on this discovery hike, and how nature responds several years after a burn. We will start at the Marcus Landslide Trailhead and go to Caballo trail to observe the 1995 Rio Fire burn area from a distance. We will then go to the Gooseneck trail to compare the burn site and current growth. Distance: 4 miles. Elevation gain: Minimal. Duration: 3 hours. Arrival time: 8:45 am.
