Bus for Watershed Health. Getting Comfortable with Sustainable Mobility.

Bus for Watershed Health. Getting Comfortable with Sustainable Mobility.

Watershed Management Group
Feb 21 2024 - 5:30pm
Meet up at WMG’s Living Lab for an adventure on the bus. We’ll all take the bus together (it’s free!) and make a couple stops to learn more about the connection between the bus, sustainable transportation, and a healthy watershed. At the same time, learn how easy it is to take the bus, load a bike on the bus, and see the bus schedule on various apps or a paper schedule.

Everyone who attends gets one of our Cool Tucson 5 Degrees stickers thanks to our partner, Pima County Department of Environmental Quality. Bus, bike, walk, or carpool with a friend to be entered into our raffle to win fun prizes, like Loop bike jersies and bike panniers!

About WMG’s workshop instructors
Lisa and Catlow Shipek love to engage others in sustainable mobility options, for the good of the planet, people, and personal health. They have learned a lot about sustainable mobility by living car-free for 6 years, and they regularly walk, bike, and bus for their daily transportation needs. Catlow teaches Sustainable Mobility classes for Local First Arizona and served on the City of Tucson’s Complete Streets Coordinating Council. Lisa has served on the City of Tucson’s Transit Task Force and now Transit Advisory Committee for four years.

About Clean Air Program, Pima County Department of Environmental Quality
The Clean Air Program engages with the public in a variety of ways to educate Pima County residents about air quality issues, including air pollution sources, health effects, actions people can take to reduce their contribution to air pollution, and accessing real-time air quality data. Since driving motor vehicles is a major source of air pollution and greenhouse gases, sustainable modes such as transit, carpooling, bicycling, and walking are encouraged as alternatives to single occupancy vehicle trips. To support this endeavor, PDEQ hosts a Drive Less Pledge for individuals to commit to driving less to protect the environment and public health.
