Creating Backyard Habitat and Rainwater Harvesting

Creating Backyard Habitat and Rainwater Harvesting

Mar 10 2018 - 9:00am to 3:00pm

Your yard can become a lush home for birds, insects, bats, small reptiles and mammals. Planting a variety and the right types of native vegetation are the key. And then there is always the need for water, which can be harvested rainwater and gray water. Beyond habitat, these landscapes cool homes, beautify neighborhoods and teach kids about nature. We’ll walk the grounds pointing out attractive native plants which are useful for wildlife, have a classroom presentation and then, after lunch, head into central Tucson to study rainwater harvesting sites. Price includes one take-home plant. For registration and further details please scroll to the bottom of Class and Trip Listings.
