Cruise Julian Wash: River Run Network Bilingual Bike Tour

Get your bike ready to explore our city’s Green Infrastructure with Joaquin Murrieta, our Cultural Ecologist, and Luis Salgado, our Green Infrastructure Coordinator. As we pedal along The Loop to explore Julian Wash, home to the largest water harvesting project in the city of Tucson, we will observe the differences between Green and Grey Infrastructure and learn about the impact that urban design and planning can have on our urban landscapes, ecosystem, and community.

 

This (bilingual) bike ride will be 5 miles round trip, with 2-3 stops along the way. There will be time for resting, snacks and questions. This will be a physically distanced event, if you are not fully vaccinated, please wear a mask. Please bring your own bike and helmet, as well as plenty of water and a snack. This event is limited to 20 people.

 

This event is organized through WMG’s River Run Network. If you are not yet a member, we will add you to the Network when you register for this event. RRN membership is free and includes a biweekly email with invitations to creek walks, family education events, river clean-ups, restoration workshops, and advocacy events to help restore our heritage of flowing rivers.

Tour Bilingüe en Bicicleta por Julian Wash con el River Run Network

 

Prepare su bicicleta para explorar la infraestructura verde de nuestra ciudad con Joaquín Murrieta, nuestro Ecólogo Cultural, y Luis Salgado, nuestro Coordinador de Infraestructura Verde. Mientras andamos en bici por The Loop exploremos Julian Wash, el proyecto de recolección de agua más grande en la ciudad de Tucson, y observaremos las diferencias entre la infraestructura verde y gris, y aprenderemos sobre el impacto que el diseño y la planificación pueden tener sobre nuestros paisajes urbanos, ecosistema y comunidad.

 

Este paseo bilingüe será de 5 millas de ida y vuelta, con 2-3 paradas en el camino. Habrá tiempo para descansar, comer alguito y hacer preguntas. Este será un evento físicamente distanciado. Por favor traiga su propia bicicleta y casco, mucha agua y un bocadillo. Este evento está limitado a 20 personas.

 

Este evento está organizado a través del River Run Network de WMG. Si aún no es miembro, lo agregaremos a la Red cuando se registre para este evento.
