Master Gardener Series: Growing Herbs in the Low Desert

Thursday – Join us for the first in a series of programs presented by the San Tan Valley Master Gardeners! Learn about growing herbs for all seasons – during our cool fall/winter weather, during the summer monsoon and some to last year-long. Information covered will include: planting locations and soil prep, appropriate herbs for each season, how to use herbs, and how to preserve them for the off-season. You will receive recipes, a planting calendar, growing tips and information on non-culinary uses. There will also be time allotted for a Q & A session with the Master Gardeners, to browse a display of herbs and cookbooks and to compare gardening stories with fellow participants. Meet inside the Visitor Center. 9:30-11am.
