Overcommitted and Diminishing: Quad-City Groundwater Needs Protection Now

Oct 12 2020 - 10:00am to 12:00pm
The groundwater serving Prescott-region residents is receding at an unsustainable rate. Will we take the actions necessary to reduce groundwater loss?

Prescott resident and retired geologist Dr. Edward Wolfe will give a brief primer on groundwater basics, discuss reasons why our groundwater supply is diminishing, and describe some strategies to address its depletion in a Zoom webinar hosted by the Citizens Water Advocacy Group (CWAG) on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. - noon. The Zoom link and password are posted in the “Next Meeting” section at www.cwagaz.org . Registration is not required.

CWAG President Gary Beverly will host the Zoom webinar and moderate the Q&A session that follows the presentation. The webinar will also be recorded and posted to CWAG’s video archive webpage for public viewing on demand.

Dr. Wolfe was a founding member of CWAG and is currently chair of CWAG’s Education Committee. He was the former chairman of the Verde Watershed Association, and also served as chairman of the Verde River Basin Partnership’s Technical Advisory Group.

CWAG is a local citizens group advocating for a sustainable water future for Prescott and central Yavapai County and for the protection of the upper Verde River. For more information visit www.cwagaz.org or email info@cwagaz.org.
