Park of Four Waters Tour

Park of Four Waters Tour

Dec 22 2017 - 10:00am to 11:00am

The Park of Four Waters tour will take you on a tour through undeveloped, natural desert to the ruins of some of these canal systems. The Hohokam people lived in the Salt River Area from approximately 450AD to 1450AD.  They were an agricultural society, growing corn, beans, squash and cotton.  In order to support their extensive agricultural system, the Hohokam people constructed miles of canals in order to direct water from the Salt River to their fields.  This is a first come, first serve tour. Space is limited, sign up at the front desk. Note: Tour is $5 in addition to regular museum admission. Also, this tour is outdoors, and requires standing and walking through natural desert areas with no established trails away from public accesible areas.
