River Run Network Creek Walk: Plants in the Santa Cruz River

This event is for all you plant nerds out there! Come along with Christian Aguilar Murrieta, WMG’s Communications and Outreach Specialist and Spadefoot Nursery partners Jared Mckinley & Katy Gierlach to the Santa Cruz River for a River Run Network Creek Walk dedicated to identifying plants. 

 

With the monsoon season, the greenery of our rivers calls for attention, but what are we actually seeing? Why are these plants important? Are all of them important? Let's find out!

 

We will walk a short stretch of the Santa Cruz River near the release of effluent flow and discuss the variety of plants we discover! You’ll also have the chance to enjoy the incredible sunset near A mountain.

 

This event is organized through WMG’s River Run Network. If you are not yet a member, we will add you to the Network when you register for this event. RRN membership is free and gives you access to a variety of virtual, dispersed, and physically distanced events including creek walks, restoration activities, river clean-ups, and educational workshops.
