River Run Network Restoration Workshop: Willow Harvesting in Tanque Verde Creek

River Run Network Restoration Workshop: Willow Harvesting in Tanque Verde Creek

Watershed Management Group
Apr 2 2024 - 9:00am
Join us in Tanque Verde Creek as we harvest native Cottonwood, Willow, and Seep Willow poles and shoots for future revegetation in the Babocomari River, a tributary to Cienega Creek. These three native plant species have the adaptive quality of resprouting from cuttings. This will require some volunteers to use loppers, clippers, or saws to harvest the shoots.

With the help of River Run Network Members across the watershed, we have been working on restoring a section of the Babocomari since 2023. This workshop is the next step in helping to restore ecological function to this area, supporting the recruitment of our native plants!

If you cannot attend for the full workshop, feel free to attend for a portion, please still register and email the coordinator your availability.
